Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own.

• Language: The paper should be written in English.
• First submission: Use the standard LaTeX article format and submit a single PDF file during the initial submission process.
• Title: Titles should be clear, concise, and informative. Whenever possible, avoid abbreviations and mathematical formulae.
• Author names: Provide the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author, ensuring they appear in the same order as in the submission system. Double-check the spelling of all names for accuracy.
• Affiliations: Provide the affiliation addresses of all authors, including their valid email addresses.
• Corresponding Author: Clearly specify who will be responsible for handling correspondence related to your article throughout the peer review, publication process, and after publication.
• Abstract: The abstract should be able to stand on its own. Please avoid references in the abstract.
• Keywords: Provide at least three keywords.
• Article structure: Organize your article into well-defined, distinct sections with clear numbering. Number headings such as Theorem, Corollary, Definition, Example according to their sections (e.g., Theorem 2.1, Example 3.1). Equation numbers should also be assigned according to the sections. Avoid equation numbers that are not referenced in the text. Add references at the end of the article. Do not include a work in the references unless it is cited in the text.
• After acceptance: Once your manuscript is accepted for publication, you will be required to format it according to the journal's official LaTeX template. Click here to download the LaTeX template file. References should be formatted according to the LaTeX template file and must be arranged in alphabetical order by the authors' last names. You must upload this newly formatted LaTeX file along with all figure files, if applicable, to the submission system.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Approximation Theory and Special Functions is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, following the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We expect all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editors, to adhere to ethical principles that ensure the integrity and credibility of scientific research.

1. Open Access and Licensing

• The journal is fully open access, ensuring that all published content is freely available to readers worldwide without any subscription or paywall barriers.
• All published works are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

• Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.
• Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources, including prior works that influenced the research, must be provided.
• Plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification are strictly prohibited.
• All authors listed must have significantly contributed to the research and approved the final version of the manuscript.
• Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
• If an error is discovered in a published article, the author must promptly inform the journal and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction if necessary.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

• Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts fairly, impartially, and confidentially.
• Reviews should be objective and constructive, aimed at improving the quality of the submitted work.
• Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review a manuscript if a conflict exists.
• Reviewers must report any suspected ethical violations, such as plagiarism or data manipulation, to the editors.
• Manuscripts and review-related communications must remain confidential.

4. Responsibilities of Editors

• Editors must make fair and unbiased decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, and relevance.
• Editors should ensure that the peer-review process is conducted in a timely, confidential, and ethical manner.
• Editorial decisions must not be influenced by personal, financial, or political interests.
• Editors should actively investigate and address any ethical concerns, including allegations of plagiarism, redundant publication, or conflicts of interest.
• The editorial team is responsible for issuing corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.

5. Ethical Oversight

• The journal follows COPE guidelines for handling cases of ethical misconduct.
• Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards, and appropriate approval must be obtained.
• Authors must disclose any funding sources and any potential conflicts of interest.

6. Plagiarism and Misconduct Policy

• The journal may use plagiarism detection software to ensure originality.
• If misconduct is suspected, an investigation will be conducted, and appropriate actions, including rejection, correction, or retraction, will be taken in accordance with COPE guidelines.
